The Surgical MIC is part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and exists to accelerate the development of novel medical devices and healthcare technologies for colorectal, hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB), vascular and neurosurgery. Our clinical interests are underpinned by academic research excellence in engineering (minimally invasive devices, material/surface sciences, computer and robotic assistance), nanotechnology (drug delivery, image-guidance, theranostics), biosensing (real-time bed-side diagnostics and monitoring), clinical trials and health economics methodology.

SurgTech 2022 is an opportunity for delegates to network and create new multidisciplinary collaborations and secondly to stimulate development of innovative ideas to address challenges in surgery.

This year’s theme is “Digital, Smart, Sustainable” and focuses on future technologies for surgery under these themes. We would like delegates to:

Hear from our keynote speakers on future policy for technologies in these themes
